Entered an incorrect PIN three times
Entered an incorrect PIN three times? There are several solutions for this.
At a cash machine or Geldmaat ATM
If you enter an incorrect PIN at a cash machine or Geldmaat ATM three times, your debit card will be blocked automatically.
- Unblock your debit card in the ABN AMRO app or on Internet Banking.
- Go to a Geldmaat cash machine.
- Enter your correct PIN.
- Make a withdrawal.
- Your debit card has now been unblocked.
On the e.dentifier
If your e.dentifier displays the message ‘pincode geblokkeerd’ [PIN blocked], you have made three failed attempts to enter the correct PIN and now the chip on the card has been blocked. Luckily, as long as you know your PIN you can unblock your card yourself.
- Go to a Geldmaat ATM
- Enter the correct PIN and check your balance or withdraw cash
Your PIN has now been unblocked and you can use your debit card again as usual.
If you’ve forgotten your PIN, please contact us to request your PIN.
PIN incorrect with six-digit code
Have you changed your PIN to a PIN with more than four digits? Then the ATM can indicate that the 'pin code is incorrect'. After entering three times, your debit card is blocked. You can unblock your card in the app or via Internet Banking.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to withdraw money with a code of more than four digits. We recommend changing your code to a four-digit code.
- Unblock your debit card in the ABN AMRO app or via Internet Banking.
- Go to a Geldmaat.
- Enter only the first four digits of the previously created PIN.
- Choose Change PIN.
- Enter a new four-digit PIN.
- You can withdraw money and pay again.
