You are insured against damage that you and your family members cause to others and their belongings
- if you are helping friends move and you break something
- if your child scratches a parked car
- if your dog bites a neighbor and she holds you liable

What is covered and what is not?
Your cover includes:
- Damage to other people's belongings and personal injury of other people
- Damage caused when you do someone a favour, for example if you help someone move house (up to €35,000)
- Damage caused by your guest (if your guest has no insurance)
- Damage caused by work performed for you by your staff (for example your cleaner)
- Damage caused by your pet
- Damage to your rental property caused by fire, explosion or outflowing water
Your cover does not include:
- Damage caused intentionally
- Damage caused by business-related activities
- Damage to your own belongings or those of someone living at the same address (such as a family member)
- Damage caused by a weapon for which a policyholder has no license
- Damage caused by a motor vehicle or vessel
- Fall and impact damage you cause to the property or belongings you rent

Tell us who you want to insure. In addition to yourself, you can also insure other family members.
Your cover
Select your deductible and choose the date on which the insurance starts.
Request insurance
Did everything work out? You can log in immediately and apply for your insurance.
More information and conditions
Excess
You can apply for liability insurance without excess. But you can also opt for an excess of €100. Or €175 for damage caused by children.
If you opt for an excess, you will get a discount on your premium. In the event of a claim, however, less money will be paid out to you.
Insurance cover amount
You can choose between an insured amount of €1,250,000 or €2,500,000 per incident.
Costs
Premium
The premium is specific to each situation. You are free to choose the maximum insured amount. And to decide whether to include an excess. Your premium is calculated based on your choices.
Commission
ABN AMRO Bank N.V. mediates for private clients in non-life insurance products of ABN AMRO Schadeverzekering N.V. We receive a fee of 20% of the premium for providing this mediation. Insurance tax
You pay 21% insurance tax on the ABN AMRO Liability Insurance premium and fees. This will be factored into your premium calculation.

What is liability insurance?
Liability insurance cushions the financial setbacks in the event of damage for which you are liable. Suppose your dog bites someone during its walk. Painful indeed! Liability insurance will at least ease the financial pain.
Is liability insurance mandatory?
This insurance is not mandatory. Nevertheless, taking out liability insurance is a smart move. If something happens, the financial consequences can be immense. A huge relief if you do not have to bear them all.
