What is covered and what is not?

You are insured for things such as:

  • Damage to someone else or their possessions
  • Damage or loss as a result of a favour to a friend (up to €25,000)
  • Damage or loss caused by a visitor (if your visitor does not have any insurance)
  • Damage or loss caused by activities carried out by your personnel (for example your cleaner)
  • Damage or loss caused by your pet

You are not insured for things such as:

  • Damage or loss caused by intent
  • Damage or loss caused by business-related activities
  • Damage to or loss of the possessions of another person living at the same address (such as a family member)
  • Damage caused by an unlicensed weapon
  • Damage caused by a motor vehicle or boat

Excess

You can apply for a personal liability insurance with no excess. But it is possible to choose for one of the excesses below:

  • € 100 or
  • € 175 only with damages caused by children.

If you choose an excess, this will entitle you to a premium discount. But you will also receive a lower reimbursement in the event of a claim. View the terms.

You can choose for an insurance cover amount of €1,250,000 or €2,500,000 per event.

Policy fee 
You will receive one policy per insurance. You do not need to pay any policy fees for this insurance.

Administration fee 
When you apply for a policy with us for the first time, you will be charged an administration fee of €0.69 (including insurance tax) for collecting the premium, which may be done monthly or annually. If you already have another non-life insurance policy with us, you will not be charged an additional administration fee.

Insurance tax
You will be charged 21% insurance tax on the premium and costs for the ABN AMRO home contents insurance. This amount will be included in the calculation of your premium.
