It’s very unfortunate that you have fallen seriously ill or had an accident while travelling. We’ll make sure you get the best possible assistance as quickly as possible.
Emergency situation?
Do you need urgent assistance during your vacation? In the case of a serious illness, death, disappearance, accident, surgery, or hospitalization, you must contact the ABN AMRO Emergency Service within 24 hours at +31 26 400 23 45. We are available 24/7 to assist you.
Not urgent? You can also easily report your damage online by following the steps at the bottom of this page.
Good to know
With the additional Medical Costs cover option, your travel insurance covers all medical costs incurred abroad due to illness, as well as follow-up treatment costs incurred in the Netherlands. Your Dutch health insurer usually only reimburses what a treatment or medication would cost in the Netherlands. For medical expenses resulting from winter sports, you need the additional Winter Sports cover.
Report damage online
The section for reporting your damage online is currently only available in Dutch. Please follow these steps:
- Go to your personal 'ABN AMRO Verzekeringen' environment.
- You will see your policies. Click on 'Claims' at the top.
- Click on 'Nieuwe claim melden' and fill in the date when the damage occurred. Answer the questions.
- Is everything correct? Then choose 'Verzenden'.
- If necessary, upload the required information so we can process your claim.

Frequently asked questions
When will I receive a response from ABN AMRO Verzekeringen?
If you have reported a new claim, you will receive a response from ABN AMRO Verzekeringen within 3 working days.
Have you already reported the damage and have additional questions? Then you will receive a response from us within 8 to 12 working days.
How do I check my claim?
You can check your claim in your personal ABN AMRO Verzekeringen environment. Here you will also see the documents added by you in relation to the claim and the messages sent about your claim.
- Go to your personal ABN AMRO Verzekeringen environment.
- At the top, select 'Claims’.
- Click the number behind 'Claim number’. Here you will see a summary of your claim and the documents added by you in relation to the claim. Under 'Documents’, you can see the documents added by you in relation to the claim. You can add additional information about your claim by clicking 'Uploaden documenten'.
- Under 'Correspondence’, you can see the communications about your claim.
What do I do if I do not have the receipts anymore?
In that case, please try to communicate certain details of the purchase to us as best you can. Such as: when did you buy the item, in which shop, what brand and type is it? Perhaps you can still find a bank statement showing the amount of the purchase.
How do I get a European accident statement?
