How it works

You can open the account yourself on your mobile. Opening an account and providing proof of identity in the form of any Dutch ID or an international passport can be done entirely online. No need to visit your branch to sign any papers.

The Student Package contains everything you need to do your banking: a bank account, debit card, Internet Banking and Banking with the ABN AMRO app.

Who is it for?

The Student Package is for students aged 18 to 30 who receive their student loan, vocational/work compensation or study allowance in their ABN AMRO Student Account (Studentenrekening). You will also need a  and a registered address in the Netherlands. 

What's in it for you?

The Student Package consists of:

  • a student account for your daily banking transactions;
  • a debit card for payment terminals and ATMs;
  • access to Internet Banking and the ABN AMRO app;
  • the ability to withdraw cash from ATMs worldwide.

Deposit insurance scheme

The current account provided by the Student Package is covered by the deposit insurance scheme. This means that you can be sure that you will get your money back if we are no longer able to meet our obligations. For more information, please visit abnamro.nl/garantiestelsel.
