We only provide the letter for your payment account and, if applied, 1 savings account. If you have several savings accounts, we will use the savings account with the highest balance.

You can request a Bank Reference Letter if you have had the account for 1 year or longer and are a client with us. You need to be at least 18 years of age. You will receive the Bank Reference Letter within 1 to 3 business days.
Please note: this Bank Reference Letter is not intended for commercial clients. Commercial clients can request a Bank Reference Letter for business clients.
Information in the letter
The letter includes the following details:
- Name of the account holder(s) with initials or first names
- IBAN account number(s)
- With or without account balance
- Official signing from ABN AMRO, worldwide accepted (please note that we cannot provide a 'wet' signature or stamp)
Insurances for students
When moving out of your parents’ home to go live on your own, it is always a good idea to take a look at your insurance coverage and needs. Even if you have health insurance in your home country, you may still need to take out health insurance in the Netherlands as well. If you live on your own, for example, home contents insurance is certainly worth considering. This covers the costs of replacing or repairing your possessions lost or damaged due to fire, water or storm. You should also look into your personal liability insurance. After all, if you accidentally injure someone or damage their property it’s good to know that the costs will be covered.
