Setting up, changing or cancelling a standing order

Setting up a standing order is simple and it means you no longer need to remember things like making a monthly transfer to your savings account. Read on to find out how it works.

Using Internet Banking

  1. Log in to Internet Banking
  2. Create a new transfer in the same way as usual
  3. Before sending it, click 'Standing' in the bottom left-hand corner
  4. Select how many times you want to make the transfer and specify whether it should be daily, weekly or monthly
  5. Select a start and end date
  6. Click the button next to 'Varying amounts' if you do not want to transfer the same amount every time
  7. Click the button next to 'Exceptions' if you want to skip a month
  8. Click 'Send'. You will now see a summary of your standing order. 
  9. Click 'Send now' below and confirm using your e.dentifier or the ABN AMRO app   

    Tip: make a note of the standing order end date in your diary, as we will not remind you of this.

Using the app

  1. Log in to the ABN AMRO app
  2. Create a new transfer in the same way as usual
  3. Before sending it, tap 'Today - Once only' in the bottom left-hand corner
  4. Tap 'Start date' to change the start date
  5. Tap 'Frequency' to select the number of times and the period (e.g. every 2 months). Tap 'Save'.
  6. Tap 'Monthly exceptions' if you want to skip a month
  7. Tap 'Varying amounts' if you do not want to transfer the same amount every time
  8. Tap 'Save' to see the overview
  9. Tap 'Next'
  10. Confirm the standing order

  1. Log in to Internet Banking
  2. Click the account from which the standing order is debited
  3. Click 'Scheduled and standing' on the left to display a list of your standing order(s)
  4. Click the standing order that you wish to change
  5. Click 'Change'
  6. Change the standing order
  7. Click 'Send'. You will now see a summary of your standing order
  8. Click 'Send now'
  9. Confirm using your e.dentifier or the ABN AMRO app

Using the app

  1. Open the app and log in. 
  2. Tap the account from which the standing order is to be debited. 
  3. Under the green bar, place your finger on 'Transaction' and slide the row to the left. 
  4. Then tap 'Scheduled and periodic'. 
  5. Tap the standing order you want to change. 
  6. Tap 'Edit' and change the standing order (amount, description or date). 
  7. Tap 'Next' to view the summary. 
  8. Tap 'Next'. 
  9. Confirm the change. 
If you want to change the account number in the standing order, you need to delete the existing standing order and create a new one.

  1. Log in to Internet Banking
  2. Click the account from which the standing order is debited
  3. Click 'Scheduled and standing' on the left to display a list of your standing order(s)
  4. Click the standing order that you wish to change
  5. Click 'Cancel'
  6. Click 'Yes' to delete the standing order
  7. You will see a message saying that you have an order in your task list
  8. Select the transfer you want to delete and click 'Send selected tasks'
  9. You will now see a summary. Click 'Send' and confirm using your e.dentifier or the ABN AMRO app

Using the app

  1. Open the app and log in. 
  2. Tap the account from which the standing order is to be debited. 
  3. Under the green bar, place your finger on 'Transaction' and slide the row to the left. 
  4. Then tap 'Scheduled and periodic'. 
  5. Tap the standing order you want to cancel. 
  6. Click 'Delete'. 
  7. Click 'Yes'. 
  8. Confirm the order.
