New look for Internet Banking login screen

The Internet Banking login screen has a new look. The QR code will appear immediately and has a prominent position on the screen. You can scan this code to log in quickly and securely using the ABN AMRO app. You can still log in using the e.dentifier after clicking a new button.

The QR code appears immediately. By scanning this code with the ABN AMRO app on your phone or tablet you can log in quickly and securely. If you use the e.dentifier, you can still use this with the new login screen. Simply click the button under the QR code.

A new look

The login screen has been simplified and has a green background. Our URL also looks somewhat different: make sure the address starts with https://www.abnamro.nl/. If it does, you can log in with full peace of mind.

Banking on your laptop or PC

For the rest, Internet Banking will remain the same. You do your banking in the familiar environment as always, even when you log in using the QR code and ABN AMRO app. After logging in, you can proceed as usual, on your laptop or PC.

Why is the login screen changing?

More and more clients are using the QR code. After all, it’s the easiest way to securely log in to Internet Banking. What’s more, we will eventually be parting with the e.dentifier altogether. While that device just keeps getting older, we can constantly breathe new life into our ABN AMRO app. We work on security and improvements every day. That’s why we ask you to regularly update the app to the latest version so you can continue to log in securely, now and in the future. 

Log in securely using the QR code

Each of these QR codes is unique and temporary. The code will expire within a couple of minutes; if you don’t scan it before then, you can simply request a new code. You scan this QR code in the secure environment of the ABN AMRO app. After you scan the code, by means of confirmation you will always see a message that you are logging in to Internet Banking. This way you know exactly what’s happening.

How logging in with QR code works

Open the ABN AMRO app on your phone or tablet and tap the QR code icon. Scan the QR code on the Internet Banking login screen. Enter your identification code in the app or log in with your fingerprint or face recognition. After logging in, you can put your phone or tablet aside and proceed as usual on your laptop or PC.

Certainly. You will still be banking with the high level of security you’ve come to expect from us. Only the login screen and the URL have changed. If you have any doubts, simply check whether the URL on the login screen starts with https://www.abnamro.nl/. You can see above what the new login screen looks like.

No, that’s not necessary. You only use the ABN AMRO app to log in. After logging in, you can proceed with your banking as usual, on your laptop or PC. Of course, you can use mobile banking if you like.

No, they can’t. The app is secured with your identification code, fingerprint or facial recognition. Your banking details are not accessible to anyone else. If you do lose your phone, however, you can go onto Internet Banking and block the ABN AMRO app.

The ABN AMRO app lets you do your banking on your mobile phone. You can also use it to log in to Internet Banking. Download the app on your mobile phone or tablet. Having trouble? We’ll help you get started with downloading and installing the app.

 

We will not be retiring the e.dentifier right away. However, because the device keeps getting older, we will eventually discontinue its use. That’s why we are inviting you to try out logging in using the QR code now already. This way you can become more familiar with this method and feel fully at ease later when you log in using the ABN AMRO app.
