The ABN AMRO app is a secure and easy way of doing your banking. If you’re still having doubts about the app’s security, read on to find out why you can trust the app.
How does ABN AMRO make sure the app is secure and stays that way? And why is logging into Internet Banking using the app so secure? Our colleague Sjoerd clears up all your concerns.
You can use the ABN AMRO app to log in securely to Internet Banking, the same way as you do with the e.dentifier. So you can see the app as a replacement for the e.dentifier. It works like this:
Every time you log in to Internet Banking, a new QR code is displayed on your laptop’s or PC’s screen. You scan this code using the app. These QR codes are particularly secured against fraud and forgeries. They are unique and can only be used for a very short period. After you’ve scanned the QR code, the app will also ask for your personal identification code, so it’s twice as secure! You no longer need your mobile after this step.
The ABN AMRO app moves with the times. We work on security and improvements every day. As a result, we can keep providing you with a new version of the app to ensure that you can keep using it securely, now and in the future. If your mobile lets you know that a new update is available, be sure to install it as soon as possible. That way, we’ll keep on banking together in the most secure way possible.
To do your banking with the app, we ask you to log in with your 5-digit identification code, your fingerprint or facial recognition. That way, if someone gets their hands on your device, they can't access your banking affairs.
Just like Internet Banking, the ABN AMRO app is a completely closed environment. This means other apps, companies and people cannot access your app.
Take a look at our 5 security tools that you can turn on in the app. These tools will make it even harder for scammers to get at your money.
Debit card lost or stolen? You can also use the app to block your debit card yourself, so you can take action right away and prevent or limit any financial losses. If you find your card again later, it's just as easy for you to unblock it.
