Fees for foreign currency withdrawals
Card payments and cash withdrawals abroad cost money. You also have to deal with exchange rates outside of euro countries. This page explains how that works.

Cash withdrawal fee bracket
The fee bracket reflects the ratio between the amount you withdraw and the costs charged in addition.
- The fee bracket applies to all cash withdrawals of coins and notes (including foreign currency) in the Netherlands and abroad per calendar year. It applies per account holder, rather than per debit card or current account.
- Do you have several accounts? In that case, the cash withdrawals from all your accounts will be added together.
- Cash withdrawals from a joint account will be assigned to the account holders in equal shares.
- If you made any cash withdrawals in foreign currency, the euro equivalent will be added.
