How to reset your security key
This step-by-step guide will show you how to reset your security key if it’s been blocked after 8 failed attempts. It’ll take you less than 10 minutes to complete all the steps. Be sure to have the following ready:
- ABN AMRO debit card
- e.dentifier
- Security key
- Computer running the Windows operating system
Log in with the e.dentifier
Log in to Internet Banking using the e.dentifier.

Click Security in your profile
Click your profile, in the top right where you see your name. Then click Security.

Delete your security key
Click the bin icon to delete your security key.

Click Delete
Click the Delete button to confirm.

Go to your computer's system settings
Open your computer's system settings like this:
- Click the start button, in the bottom left of your screen.
- Click Settings: the cogwheel icon.
- Then search for 'security key'.

Manage security key
Click the Security key line to open it and then click the Manage button.

A small pop-up window opens
You’ll be asked to insert your security key into your computer and to touch the back of the security key.

Reset security key
Click Reset.

Reset security key
Click Proceed.

Reinsert security key
Remove the security key from your computer and then reinsert it.

Touch the security key twice
Touch the back of your security key briefly twice.

Confirmation
The window will now show confirmation that the reset was successful.
