Your maximum loan amount: what we look out for

Your personal situation

How old are you? Do you own or rent your home? Do your children still live at home? Do you own a car? All these factors affect the maximum amount you can borrow.

Your income

We also take a close look at your income and how you earn it. Are you on a permanent or a temporary employment contract? Are you employed by a company or self-employed? The maximum amount you can borrow largely depends on your income and fixed costs.

Your expenditure

How much do you pay per month for your rent or mortgage? Are you paying off a student loan, any other loans, or do you pay maintenance? The difference between your income and your expenditure ultimately determines how much you can borrow. You must have enough money left for the repayments on your loan.

You can borrow between €5,000 and €75,000. The exact amount depends on your personal situation, such as your income and your family and living situation.  If you want to borrow more, our Maatwerkkrediet might be what you’re looking for. No charge for additional repayments

You can always repay more than agreed. Simply transfer the additional money using Internet Banking or the ABN AMRO app. When you make additional repayments on your loan or repay it in one lump-sum payment, you will not be charged an early repayment fee.

“If you want to take out a loan, we also check how much money is left for your day-to-day expenses, after paying your monthly loan repayments. This is called the lending standard. ”

The term of a personal loan ranges between 12 months and 144 months. The annual percentage rate (APR) expresses all costs associated with the loan. Apart from interest, there will be no additional cost. The annual percentage rate ranges between 5.0% and 8.8%.

Good to know: The interest rate on a personal loan does not change throughout the loan term, meaning that you will pay the same amount every month. Repayments are made up of a portion of the principal (the amount of the actual loan) and interest. In the month in which your loan is paid out, you only pay a one-off interest charge. This is the interest from the pay-out date of the loan until the end of the month.
