How the e.dentifier works

How the e.dentifier works

Logging in and confirming transactions using your e.dentifier

With the e.dentifier, you can log in to Internet Banking and confirm transactions on Internet Banking and in the ABN AMRO app. This page will provide further details.

When to use the e.dentifier

  • The first time you log in using your debit card
  • When making transfers and iDEAL payments that exceed your chosen daily limit or the maximum amount permitted. If you always want to confirm transfers using your e.dentifier, simply set your daily limit to 0.
  • If you do not use the ABN AMRO app

Certain things always require confirmation using your e.dentifier, such as international transfers on Internet Banking or registering your telephone in the ABN AMRO app.

When you insert your debit card into the e.dentifier, a menu with numeric keys will appear. Press ‘1. Log in’ to log in and ‘2. Send order’ to send your payments. Use key 3 to check your details, such as when changing the settings for your child’s account, and press key 4 to change your limit on Internet Banking. If you’d prefer to use the Dutch version, press OK and select ‘7. Choose Dutch’. Keys 6 and 7 of the e.dentifier are not available (anymore).

Using your e.dentifier with a cable

The e.dentifier software was developed for customers who use business Internet Banking. If you are not a business customer, please use the e.dentifier on its own, i.e. without the software or a USB cable.

We also advise you to delete the e.dentifier software, so as to avoid any problems installing software updates.

TIP! Did you know that can now easily log in to Internet Banking using a QR code if you have the ABN AMRO app?
