Collect the information you need

Make sure you have your policy number, photos of the damage and purchase receipts at hand.

Claiming process

ABN AMRO Verzekeringen will handle your claim and request additional information, if necessary. Under 'view claim', you can see who is handling your claim and the status of your claim.

Personal claims handling

We will provide you with a personal claims manager who will be on hand to answer any questions you have about your damage and insurance.

How we help you in the event of damage, loss, or theft

You would like to have a carefree holiday. That’s why we don't want to make things more difficult for you than they already are. To make sure that doesn’t happen, we will:

  • Provide a personal claims manager who will answer any questions you have
  • Provide 24/7 emergency assistance
  • Pay out the costs incurred for buying essential items, such as clothing and toiletries, if your personal luggage is delayed by more than 8 hours during the outward journey

What is covered and what is not?

What is covered:

  • Loss or theft of luggage
  • Extended stay as a result of a natural disaster, strike or industrial action
  • Damaged or lost tent

What is not covered:

  • Damage or loss resulting from wilful acts or from being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication
  • Damage or loss resulting from a dangerous sport
  • Damage or loss resulting from travel to a country against advice from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs

We also reimburse this if you have purchased the additional cover options:

  • Accidents during winter sports with the winter sports cover
  • 24/7 breakdown assistance within Europe with the Europe breakdown assistance cover
  • Cancellation of a trip with the additional cover Cancellation
  • Costs of medical treatment or medication with the Medical Expenses cover
  • Damage, loss, or accident during a business trip with the Business travel cover
