Registering with the local council is one of the first things you need to do once you arrive in the Netherlands. You must register within five days of moving to the Netherlands, along with your partner and children (if applicable). You get a BSN (Dutch personal ID number) when you register. You need this number for all the other matters that need to be arranged, such as opening a bank account.
Don't have a BSN yet? Then you can still open an account. However, you must provide us with your BSN within 120 days after opening your account.
You can open a Dutch account as soon as you have moved to the Netherlands. There is no need to visit a branch – all you need is your mobile.
