Your purchases insured for 365 days

With a Gold Card, all your purchases are insured against theft, loss and damage for 365 days, both online and in the shops. You also receive a delivery guarantee for all the purchases you make with your Gold Card. That’s a nice extra!

What protection does my Gold Card give me?

You are insured for things such as:

  • Delayed flights
  • Delayed luggage
  • Theft, loss or damage to your purchases
  • Delivery
  • Car legal expenses
  • Car rental excess

You are not insured for things such as:

  • Trip cancellation
  • Stolen luggage
  • Travel and accommodation not booked using your Gold Card
  • Damage or loss caused deliberately or through carelessness

Who can apply for a Gold Card?

18 or older

You must be 18 or older to apply for a Gold Card.

Living in the Netherlands

You need to be living in the Netherlands to apply for a Gold Card.

Monthly income

You can apply for a credit card if:

  • your net monthly income is at least €1,150, or
  • you have a minimum freely taxable capital in box 3 of €20,000 over the last 2 years 

This means that you will not qualify for a credit card if you are on unemployment benefits.

Difference between Gold Card and Credit Card

Your Gold Card is an attractive, gold-coloured card, a real eye-catcher. It’s not just a pretty item though. This card gives more extensive protection than our regular credit card, like: 

  • Purchases insured for 365 days instead of 180 days 
  • Car legal expenses insurance, for when you encounter legal problems when hiring a car 
  • Car rental excess cover up to €500

Apply easily online

Select the Gold Card and start the application process online. Next, check your details. Please add any information that is missing. Make sure all your details are correct before you submit your application. 

International Card Services (ICS) will send you an email that explains how to choose your PIN. ICS will check your application in the meantime. This will take around 10 working days.

Once you have chosen a PIN and your application has been approved, your Gold Card will be sent to your home address within 5 to 10 working days.

Purchase protection

All purchases you make with your Gold Card are insured against theft, loss and damage for 365 days, whether you made the purchase online or in the shop.

Delivery guarantee

Your money is refunded if your order is not delivered or is sent to the wrong address.

Flight delay insurance

If your flight is delayed for 4 hours or more, your additional costs of up to €140 per person will be reimbursed. For charter flights, this applies to delays of 8 hours or more.

Luggage delay insurance

You will be reimbursed €140 if your luggage does not arrive within 4 hours of your arrival. If your luggage is not found within 48 hours, you will receive an additional payment of up to €410.

Car rental excess insurance

The excess for your rental car is insured up to €500 if you book it using your Gold Card.

Car legal expenses insurance

With your Gold Card, you are given legal assistance if you have problems relating to a car rental.
