Activate your ABN AMRO credit card
Start using your credit card worldwide
Just received your new ABN AMRO credit card? Then it's time to activate it.
There are 3 ways to activate your credit card: through Creditcard Online, in the ABN AMRO Credit Card app, or by making your first chip-and-PIN payment. Whichever option you choose, you'll be able to use your credit card straight away, both online and in shops.
Below, you'll find how each option works and what to keep in mind.
Option 1: Activate your card in Creditcard Online
- Log in to Creditcard Online.
- Go to 'My Cards'.
- Select 'Activate credit card'.
- Choose the ABN AMRO credit card you'd like to activate and enter the expiry date.
Option 2: Activate your card with a payment
You can quickly activate your credit card by making your first payment. This can be done in a shop or through an online purchase.
- Make a purchase in a shop using your PIN.
Once the transaction has been approved, your credit card will be activated automatically. - Make an online purchase using 3D Secure.
During the payment process, you'll complete a verification through 3D Secure. Once the verification has been confirmed, your credit card is ready to use immediately.
Option 3: Activate your card in the ABN AMRO Credit Card app
- Open the ABN AMRO Credit Card app.
- Go to the 'Card' menu.
- Select 'Activate your credit card'.
