What is your personal information?

Personal information comprises details about you. That can be your name, for example, or your computer's IP address. ABN AMRO may also ask you for personal information. For example, when you fill out a form on our website when applying for a product or when using Internet Banking.

 

Careful use

ABN AMRO saves and uses personal information for carefully selected purposes, as listed in the Code of Conduct for the Processing of Personal Data by Financial Institutions. Please find these purposes summarised below:

  • To verify whether or not ABN AMRO can accept someone as a customer.

  • To enter into contracts with you and other customers.

  • To ensure money can be paid and received (payments).

  • To analyse personal information for investigations.

  • To provide information about ABN AMRO products and services (marketing).

  • For security reasons.

  • To comply with legislation or court orders to which ABN AMRO is subject.

  • To maintain contact with you or other customers.


 

International exchange of personal information

ABN AMRO has internal rules that regulate the international exchange of personal information within the group. These rules are called Binding Corporate Rules.

    We can send you an overview of the information we have on file about you. Please send a request to that effect to:

    Please enclose a copy of a valid proof of ID (passport, driving licence, etc.).

  • How can I correct my personal information?

    If your personal information turns out to be incorrect, you can ask ABN AMRO to correct it. You can do so by calling our Advice & Service Centre, 0900 - 00 24.

  • How do I unsubscribe from receiving personalised offers from ABN AMRO?

    If you no longer wish to receive personalised offers from ABN AMRO, please let us know by calling:

    • 0900 - 00 24.

    • online.

  • The banking sector's warning system
