iDIN lets you identify yourself
iDIN lets you prove your identity on various websites using your bank’s tried and trusted log-in methods. Using iDIN is similar to using iDEAL on your mobile or laptop, making logging in very easy because you do not need any other log-in details.

iDIN is available on more and more websites. Look out for the iDIN logo.

You can now also use iDIN through the ABN AMRO app.

iDIN is being replaced by itsme
For you as a customer, nothing will change at first. You can continue using iDIN as you are used to. From June 2026, iDIN will be gradually replaced by itsme. It works in the same way as iDIN but offers more features.
itsme is a trusted and qualified service provider of digital identification services and will take over the management and further development of iDIN. itsme is certified at the highest security level and ensures a safe online experience.

What is iDIN?
iDIN is a way of proving your identity online and it was developed by a group of banks to make your life easier. iDIN lets you log in securely to all platforms using your bank’s tried and trusted log-in methods:
- log-in on other websites (e.g. of insurance companies or energy companies)
- digital signing (e.g. mortgage offers, loans, insurances or signing direct debit contracts)
- age verification and identity confirmation
One-off activation
You can activate iDIN in two ways. You accept the conditions when using iDIN for the first time or via Internet Banking.
First time use
Are you using iDIN for the first time? On your screen we will ask you to read the conditions and confirm them once with the ABN AMRO app.
Via Internet Banking
- Log in to Internet Banking.
- Click Enable.
- Accept the terms and conditions and click Enable.
- Confirm.
- You can also disable iDIN in the same way.
How to use iDIN
- Click the iDIN logo on the website. You will be taken to the iDIN log-in environment.
- Select ABN AMRO.
- Log in using the app or Internet Banking.
- You have now logged in using your bank details and will be taken back to the website.
What happens to your data?
- Only the data needed by the website to confirm your identity will be shared with iDIN.
- You will need to give your consent once only to share the following data: log-in, confirmation of identity or age.
- You will be shown exactly which data you are about to share before you actually do so. Naturally, we will never send information about your finances.
- Read the privacy statement to find out more about the use of personal data.
