Lost your phone? It happens

So take precautions now

Losing your phone: it can happen to anybody, so make sure that you’re well prepared and know what to do if this happens to you. Follow these tips and save yourself a lot of stress.

Two things you can do now

  1. Make regular backups

    Regularly back up your photos, documents and other important things you have on your phone.

  2. Secure your phone

    Go to your phone’s settings and enable the following options:

    • screen lock
    • anti-theft alarm or ‘Find my device'

What to do when you've lost your phone

  1. Track down your phone

    If you have ‘Find my device’ enabled on your phone, you can see where your phone is. Check your phone’s manual to find out how it works.

  2. Have your number blocked

    If you really can’t find your phone anywhere, contact your mobile provider to have them block your number.

  3. Delete device registration for the app

    • Delete the device registration for the ABN AMRO app on your lost phone on internet Banking. You can log in using your e.dentifier if you have one, or you can download the app on a different device. This does mean you’ll need to reactivate the ABN AMRO app. Read here to find out how.
    • If you don’t have an e.dentifier or another smartphone or tablet you can use, request an e.dentifier.  Please note that it can take 7 working days for it to be delivered.
    • If you share your phone or tablet with someone else, make sure you both delete your device registration.
