Chip in your windscreen? Storm blown a tree branch onto your car? What a bummer! That’s when it’s useful to have car insurance with more than just third-party cover, such as ABN AMRO’s Limited or Comprehensive cover. With ABN AMRO Claims Service (ABN AMRO Schade Service), all you have to do is submit the claim and we’ll take care of the rest. This way, you don’t have to worry about the paperwork. After all, having to claim is stressful enough.
If you have a car insurance policy with Limited or Comprehensive cover, you should bear in mind that some claims will move you down on the no-claims bonus scale. This means a smaller discount and a higher premium for your car insurance. Knowing this, it may be smarter sometimes not to claim on your insurance for minor damage. Using the chart below, we will help you decide what would be best in your situation. And remember to check the car insurance terms and conditions .
Not sure? Give us a call on +31(0)38 49 67 123 (between 8am and 9pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 5pm on Saturday). We will go over your options with you to see what would be the best thing to do.
*If your premium goes up too much after claiming for the damage, please get in touch with us to see whether it would be a good idea to pay back the amount of the claim later. If you decide to do that, your no-claims bonus will return to what it was. You will then have up to 24 months to pay back the amount claimed. This will lower your premium to the old level and we will refund the amount you overpaid.
We all get a little distracted now and again. But before you know it, you’ve run your car into something. That’s when it’s always nice to have an excuse to fall back on. We have put together a list of the best excuses for you. Do bear in mind, however, that these excuses work only if you have Comprehensive cover. If you have third-party liability cover or Limited cover, damage to your own car that you caused yourself is not covered.
