1. Answer some questions
Go to the application form and answer some questions. We ask these questions so that we can offer you the best possible service.
Once you have filled in your answers, you can check if the information is correct. When everything is correct, you can send the application.

2. Make an appointment with AMP
Before we open your bank account, we need to check your information. We do this to help eliminate fraud. Once the application has been approved, you will receive an email from our partner AMP Group within 3 working days. This email contains a link to an appointment planner. You can choose when, where and at what time AMP Group will come to check your identity. You can change the appointment up to 24 hours before the appointment.

3. Prepare for the appointment
Make sure you attend the appointment with AMP Group in person. Nobody else is permitted to hand over your identity document. Make sure you have your identity document ready so that the appointment does not take longer than necessary. AMP Group will check the identity document and make a copy.
Useful information: AMP Group does not use vehicles bearing the ABN AMRO logo.

The details are incorrect. Can I still make changes?
Once you have filled in your answers, you can check that the information is correct. You can change your name and date of birth if necessary. Your application may be rejected if the details cannot be properly verified. You can then restart the application.
Which identity document can I use to become a client through the website?
You can become a client through the ABN AMRO website using the following identity documents:
- Dutch identity document (identity card, driving licence or passport)
- Residence permit (type I, IV)
- European identity card
- International passport (except United States passport)
Why do I need to provide my identity document?
Like all other banks, we are legally obliged to verify your identity and to check that you can become our client. This obligation is laid down in the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (Wwft). In doing so, we help prevent money laundering and terrorist financing.
Will AMP Groep still pay me a visit if I live on one of the Wadden islands?
AMP Groep will come to Texel, but not to the other islands. If you live on one of the other Wadden islands, please open an account in the ABN AMRO app. If you can’t do that, please call us to make an appointment.
