Beneficiary bank details
For a payment to a bank in South Africa, a Bank Identification Code (BIC) or a Bank Clearing Code (BCC) is mandatory. This is also known as a SWIFT address (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication).
Beneficiary details
- South Africa does not have an IBAN and no standard account structure.
- Do not use spaces, dashes, comma, or slash (/) in the account number.
- Enter the full name of the person receiving the money in the “Recipient Name” field.
Do not use abbreviations.
Cost
These international transfers are subject to private transfer fees and business transfer fees. If you choose for the OUR option, the beneficiary will not be charged anything by their bank. ABN AMRO charges an OUR fee (PDF, 156 KB) for this.
