Call Check

Check who’s calling you

Unfortunately, phone scams are rather common. Scammers may call you directly, posing as a bank employee. They may claim to be calling from our fraud desk, for example. If you aren’t sure whether you’re really speaking to a member of ABN AMRO staff, ask for a Call Check. This way, you can be sure about who’s calling you and prevent fraud.

Call Check in 3 steps

Ask for a Call Check

If you ask for a Call Check, the employee will send you a message in the ABN AMRO app or on Internet Banking

Log in to the ABN AMRO app or Internet Banking

As soon as you log in, you’ll see the message: 'You are talking to an advisor from ABN AMRO’

Check!

If you see the message, you can safely continue the conversation

A woman shows the ABN AMRO app on her phone, displaying the message: You are talking to an advisor from ABN AMRO.

Here's how it works

If you have a bad feeling about a call, you can ask for a Call Check at any point during the conversation. If the person on the line really is an ABN AMRO advisor, they will send you a message in the ABN AMRO app or on Internet Banking to verify the call. Once you see this message, you can be sure that you are not dealing with a scammer and can safely continue the conversation.

Who can ask for a Call Check?

  • You can ask for a Call Check if an ABN AMRO employee calls you. In other words, not if you call us.
  • You must be an ABN AMRO consumer client with a current account.
  • You must have access to the ABN AMRO app or Internet Banking.
