The housing market over the past 5 years
Scarcity, overbidding and rising prices — that’s what the housing market looked like over the past 5 years. Between 2021 and 2023, house prices rose sharply. In 2025, they were even 7.7% higher than a year earlier. And interest rates? They jumped in 2023 and 2024, but according to the April 2026 Housing Market Monitor they appear to be stabilising.
