About the Skin to Skin exhibition

13 September 2025 to 11 January 2026

Sandra Mujinga presents her most ambitious work to date: Skin to Skin. The Norwegian artist has transformed the Stedelijk’s lower-level gallery into a stark, otherworldly realm. Sound, light, mirrors, and sculptures conjure an unearthly space occupied by 55 identical figures. Mujinga’s endless repetition of these figures is an exploration of multiplication as a strategy for concealment.

About the Skin to Skin exhibition

11 October 2025 to 1 March 2026

The first museum retrospective since his unexpected death two years ago: Erwin Olaf – Freedom. The exhibition pays tribute to the versatile and multifaceted artist that he was and illuminates his entire creative process. Besides iconic artworks and series by Erwin Olaf, the presentation also features lesser-known work, including videos and sculptures, his commercial photography, and personal archive material. The exhibition culminates with his last work, an unfinished video.
