When should I consider investing via Portfolio Management?

It can be difficult to decide whether or not to invest via Portfolio Management. You’re right to be careful with your assets. So why not arrange a no-strings attached meeting and let one of our portfolio managers explain how you could benefit from Portfolio Management, or why it may not be your best option?

Would you benefit from Portfolio Management?

Have you got substantial savings with no short-term objectives? If so, investing might be a good choice. If you choose ABN AMRO Portfolio Management, a team of experts will invest and manage your money on your behalf. The investment will basically take care of itself. You can opt for Portfolio Management if you have assets of €50,000 or more.

Read on to find out whether Portfolio Management is a good choice or a less suitable option for you.

Six reasons for choosing Portfolio Management

  1. You potentially get better returns than on a savings account

If you have a tidy sum in your savings account, you know it’s safe. On the other hand, it generates very little interest. Portfolio Management is an opportunity to boost your returns, but also involves risks. You could lose all or part of your initial investment.

  2. You would rather let someone else invest on your behalf

If you are new to investing, you perhaps feel a bit nervous about it. That’s hardly surprising: investing involves risks. If you don’t feel confident about investing yourself, and would rather leave it to someone with more expertise, Portfolio Management could be an interesting option for you.

  3. You don’t want to spend time managing your investments

Would you like to invest, but don’t have time to do the research? If so, you can leave it to our investment strategists. They monitor the markets daily and you can leave everything to them.

  4. Benefit from our expertise

By using Portfolio Management, you are entrusting your money to a team of experts with a wealth of experience. You benefit directly from their well-thought-out strategy, expertise and their overall perspective. Our efforts have earned us multiple awards

  5. Spreading the risks

A well-thought-out investment strategy means spreading your risks. Our experts do this by investing in multiple funds. The risk is tailored to your wishes: we always stay within the risk profile that you and your portfolio manager have chosen. ABN AMRO offers five different risk profiles, ranging from the first low-risk profile to the fifth high-risk profile.

  6. Investing without emotions

The portfolio manager and team of experts make all investments without being swayed by emotions. Yes, the market will inevitably fluctuate and you may feel anxious to ‘sell’. But your portfolio manager can explain why we make certain decisions on your behalf and which transactions best suit your long-term strategy. So you can keep your head cool.

When is Portfolio Management not a good option?

• If you don’t want to take any risks with your savings

While investments can be profitable, they are also associated with risks. You could lose all or part of your initial investment.

• If you don’t have enough savings

We always advise against investing all your savings. With Portfolio Management you can invest funds of €50,000 or more.

• If you are likely to need your money in the near future

Think about how much money you need to maintain a healthy buffer. It takes a few years before you see real results from investing. This is why it’s important only to invest money that you don’t need right now.

Portfolio Management – costs versus returns

There are costs associated with Portfolio Management. You pay a management fee for our services, for example, including for managing your portfolio. The exact fee depends on your risk profile: it will be between 1.21% and 1.39% of your invested assets per year (including 21% VAT).

You will not be charged extra for withdrawals, or changes to your mandate or risk profile. Neither will you be charged if you decide to stop using Portfolio Management.
