About Singer Laren

Singer Laren, a unique cultural heritage site, is tucked away in the artists’ village of Laren in Noord-Holland. Discover its fascinating exhibitions and amble through the unique sculpture garden designed by Piet Oudolf. With a treasure hunt, family-friendly performances and a children’s atelier, it’s the perfect day out for young and old.

About the exhibition

From the late 19th century onwards, the countryside became a magnet for modern artists seeking refuge from the city. Their work immortalised the rural life they encountered: ploughing, digging, sewing, harvesting... The exhibition Lokroep van de natuur (The lure of nature) transports you to those pastoral times with creations by artists including Kees van Dongen, Anton Mauve and Charley Toorop.

ABN AMRO x Singer Laren

ABN AMRO has been a partner of Singer Laren since 1990. At the beginning of the 1900s, US couple Anna and William Singer built their villa De Wilde Zwanen (the wild swans) in the Dutch town of Laren. Here they accumulated an impressive art collection, and after William’s death, Anna commissioned the design and construction of a museum and theatre annex. In 1956, this unique cultural heritage site opened its doors to the public, growing into a much-loved museum.
