Changes to business banking fees and conditions
As of 1 January 2027

On 1 January 2027 we will adjust some of our business banking fees, terms & conditions, and product features. This allows us to continue providing you with the best possible service.
Why are the fees changing?
We are continuously investing in security and digital services. This enables you to continue doing your business banking easily and securely. You will see part of these costs reflected in our new fees.
Transaction fee
As of 1 January 2027, the transaction fee for a bank transfer will be going up from €0.12 to €0.13. This applies to outgoing payments such as SEPA transfers, transfer batches, and iDEAL-Wero payments. This fee is going up due to the increase in external costs for SEPA transfers.
Terms & conditions and product features
We have updated our business payment terms & conditions and information sheets. Also, some products will see changes as of 1 January 2027. The most important changes are listed below:
- The product name of various business accounts (e.g. Business Account and Directors Account) will be changed to: ‘Business payment account’.
Tip: you can give accounts a recognisable name yourself. In Internet Banking, click on the account and then click on ‘Self-service’. - In 2027, iDEAL will fully switch over to Wero. With that switch, additional payment options will be added, such as payment on delivery and for subscriptions. In addition, at an increasing number of foreign webshops you will be able to use Wero to make payments for your business.
- Paper transfer forms will no longer be available for business customers. You can make all your transfers quickly and securely using Internet Banking Business and Access Online, both in the Netherlands and internationally.
SEPA Direct Debit
With your SEPA Direct Debit contract, you can debit amounts from your customers’ accounts via bank authorisation. As of 1 January 2027, the monthly fee for this contract will go up from €13.50 to €15.00 per month. At the same time, the monthly subscription fees for eMandates (Digitaal Incassomachtigen) will no longer apply. Other collection costs, such as transaction fees, batch fees, and fees for digital authorisations, will remain unchanged.
From separate account to package Basics for Associations & Foundations
Does your association or foundation currently have a separate Directors account (BestuurRekening) or Business Account (Ondernemersrekening)? Then, as of 1 January 2027, you will be getting the package Basics for Associations and Foundations. This package includes a business payment account, a debit card, and Internet Banking Business. The table below shows what this means for your monthly fees.
| Current fees per month | As of 1 January 2027 | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Directors account / Business Account | €5.90 | Basics for Associations & Foundations (includes 1 payment account, 1 debit card and Internet Banking Business) | €9.90 |
| Internet Banking Business | €5.00 | ||
| Debit card | €1.50 | ||
| Extra Directors accounts or Business Account (optional) | €5.90 | Extra Business payment account (optional) | €5.90 |
| Extra debit card (optional) | €1.50 | Extra debit card (optional) | €1.50 |
Do you have more than one Directors account or Business Account? In that case too, you will be getting just one package Basics for Associations & Foundations, which includes a business payment account within the fee. The fees for your other extra accounts and debit cards will remain unchanged.
Good to know: As of 1 January 2027, the names of the Directors account and Business Account will be changed to Business payment account. If you have more than one account, you may find it useful to give your accounts recognisable names. You can easily do this in Internet Banking Business or the ABN AMRO app: just click on your account and then click on ‘Self-service’.
Trade Finance fees
As of 1 January 2027, the handling and support fee we charge for certain Trade Finance transactions, will change from €40 to €45. In addition, some fees will be merged and others discontinued entirely.
Customer due diligence costs (Know Your Client)
The monthly fee for Customer due diligence (Know Your Client) will be going up from €6.50 to €7.50. This fee applies once per entity, even if you have several accounts with us.
Is one or more directors or beneficial owners (UBOs) in your organisation established outside the European Economic Area (EEA)? This means we must carry out additional and more complex checks. The standard Dutch fee of €6.50 you currently pay no longer covers this, and therefore a monthly fee of €20 will apply as of 1 January 2027.
Refunds to your account
Are you receiving money back via your debit card, for example because you have returned a purchase or received a refund of a deposit? The time at which the amount appears in your account depends on how the refund is processed. Whereas a refund was often visible immediately in the past, in most cases you will now receive the amount on the working day after the refund has been initiated. In some cases, you will still receive the amount on the same day.
Disputing a debit card payment
We are clarifying in the terms and conditions when you can dispute a payment made with your debit card and which conditions apply. This is now described more clearly:
- Which payments you can submit a dispute for
- That you must first contact the seller
- That a dispute is only possible if you have not already received a refund or another suitable solution
- Which information we may ask you to provide and when you must supply it
We are also clarifying that submitting a dispute is free of charge. In addition, we are stating that, in exceptional situations, we may charge fees if this option is used improperly.
Debit card authorisations in a currency other than euros
Have you paid with your debit card in a currency other than euros and do you see a card authorisation on your account? When you make a payment in another currency, an amount may first be authorised on your account. We immediately convert that amount into euros using the exchange rate that applies at that moment.
The final debit is usually processed later. For this, we use the exchange rate that applies at that time. As a result, the final amount debited from your account may be higher or lower than the amount that was previously authorised. The amount in the other currency remains the same. Only the amount in euros may change due to a change in the exchange rate.
Credit transfer limit
The limit for credit transfers and iDEAL/Wero payments will change in 2027. We'll let you know the date from which the new limit will apply to you. The new credit transfer limit applies to all credit transfers via Internet Banking and the ABN AMRO app to someone else’s account.
Have you already set a daily limit via the ABN AMRO app or via Internet Banking? Then we’ll convert it to the new credit transfer limit: either a limit per day, or a limit per transaction. You can change the limit at any time. Choose a limit that suits your situation. Don't set the limit too low so that you can continue to do your banking. But not too high either, so that you run less risk in the event of fraud.
