Manage your banking affairs with multiple people
Arranging business authorisation
Owners and directors of organisations automatically have a business authorisation. You can also authorise someone else to conduct banking affairs for your organisation. This is called arranging business authorisation.
Authorising someone is one of the ways to grant someone access to your organisation's banking affairs. Often, access to Business Internet Banking or Access Online is sufficient. Answer the questions below to get started.

Explanation of terms
Director
A director may, once recognized by us as authorised to act on behalf of the bank, request, modify, and cancel all products and services on behalf of the organisation and sign for them. A director has access to Internet Banking Business or Access Online if requested.
Authorised representative
A board can grant authority to someone. The authorised representative is then allowed to conduct banking affairs for the organisation and is partially authorised to sign.
An authorised representative:
- is permitted to request information about the organisation.
- can apply for, modify, and terminate products and services on behalf of the organisation and sign for them. However, an authorised representative is not allowed to sign for credits and security products.
- does not automatically has access to Business Internet Banking Business or Access Online. A director can request this access.
Delegate
The board can also authorise someone. A delegate is allowed to conduct banking affairs for the organisation, such as making payments (up to a certain limit). However, this person is not an authorised signatory.
A delegate:
- is permitted to request information about the organisation.
- can initiate the process for applying, cancelling, or modifying services and products on behalf of the organisation, but cannot sign themselves. An authorised signatory must sign or confirm these actions.
- does not automatically have access to Business Internet Banking Business or Access Online. A director can request this access.
Contact person
A contact person can give instructions by phone on behalf of your organisation for requesting, cancelling, or modifying services and products, but cannot sign themselves. This must be done by a director or an authorised representative. Would you like to add or change a contact person? This can be done easily via 'Change contact person.' (NL)
As a contact person, you do not have direct access to Internet Banking Business and thus cannot bank online yourself. A director or an existing authorised representative who already has access to Internet Banking Business can request this for you via 'Granting access to Internet Banking Business.'
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't access to Internet Banking Business happen automatically?
The administration of authorisations for telephone/written banking is separate from the authorisations in Internet Banking Business. We do this so that you can manage the permissions yourself in Internet Banking.
