Urgent credit transfer

Transferring money right away

See how fast money is transferred

A regular SEPA credit transfer is often credited to the recipient’s account within a few seconds. This is called an instant payment. It applies to individual credit transfers that you arrange manually on Internet Banking for Business, in the ABN AMRO app or via Access Online Renewed, assuming the recipient’s bank cooperates. You can see it in the summary of the credit transfer: 'With the recipient: immediately’. This means that there is less need for urgent credit transfers these days.

When you transfer money, we automatically check whether the money is in the recipient’s account within a few seconds.

Here’s how an urgent credit transfer works

Internet Banking Business

If you look on Internet Banking and see the summary: 'With the recipient: immedialtely’, the money will reach the recipient within a few seconds.

You’ll see a different message if it is going to take longer: 'With the recipient: Within 1 working day'. In this case, the ‘Urgent payment transfer’ toggle will appear in your screen under 'Execution', giving you the option of transferring the money urgently.

You must submit this order to us on Internet Banking before 4.30 pm. Orders submitted for urgent credit transfers to other banks at the weekend are executed before 8 am on Mondays.

Access Online Renewed

You’ll see the ‘Urgent payment’ toggle under the heading 'Additional information'. If the toggle disappears when you enter the recipient’s account details, the money will reach the recipient within a few seconds.

If you can still see the toggle, you can opt to make an urgent credit transfer. The money will then be credited to the recipient’s account within 90 minutes.

You must submit the order to us in Access Online by 4.30 pm. Orders submitted for urgent credit transfers to other banks at the weekend are executed before 8 am on Mondays.
