Please note! Coming soon: instant payment processing
What does this mean for you?
In the first quarter of 2026, the bulk channels FileAct and Access Direct will switch to instant payment processing.
Transactions with instant processing will then appear in the recipient's account within a few seconds. Currently, your individual transactions are still processed via a SEPA Credit Transfer batch according to the normal SEPA processing times. In most cases, the payment will not appear in the recipient's account until the next business day.
How it works
- You submit your SEPA Credit Transfers via FileAct or Access Direct. A batch entry is made on your account for the total amount of the batch. The batch is broken down into individual transactions.
- Each individual transaction in the batch is processed within 5 to 10 seconds if instant processing is possible. Sometimes this is not possible, for example because the beneficiary bank cannot process instant payments. In that case, the money will be credited to the recipient's account within 1 business day. The total processing of the entire batch may take longer.
- SEPA batches can be submitted every day, 24 hours a day. You do not need to take delivery times into account.
- Would you like the transfer batch to be processed on a specific day? Then enter your desired execution date. This can be up to 364 days in the future.
Validation of payment files
In order to process the batches instantly, stricter validation of the payment files is required. So check your files carefully. This validation ensures that the files comply with SEPA rules.
Status messages
We will no longer support Human Readable messages. We therefore advise you to switch to our ISO XML pain.002 messages as soon as possible.
If you already receive ISO XML pain.002 messages, you will see a few new status codes.
We will also introduce a new type of pain.002 message for SEPA Credit Transfer batches. This message provides a summary of the processing of the individual transactions in the batch, including a timestamp of the last transaction that was processed as instant.
Please note
- There are still some restrictions. For example, transactions in a single batch with more than 10,000 transactions are not processed instantly.
- Batches with only one transaction are not processed as a batch but as individual transactions.
- When you approve payments in Access Online, they will be transferred from Access Online Classic to Access Online Renewed.
- Amounts above €5 million are not processed instantly.
