Fixed term
With a Savings Deposit, you set aside your savings for a longer period. During this term, you receive a fixed interest rate. This provides certainty. At the moment, we offer fixed terms of 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 years.

Put your money to work
Do you have a substantial buffer in your savings account and want to ‘do something’ with part of your assets? If you are willing to take on a bit more risk, investing may help put your money to work. Do keep in mind that investing involves risks and you may lose (part of) your initial investment.

Opening a new Savings Deposit
At present, you can open a Savings Deposit with a term of 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 years. When opening one, you can make your first deposit immediately. The minimum initial deposit is €500 and the maximum is €250,000.
Please note: This maximum amount depends on your daily limit, which you can adjust yourself up to €250,000.
Would you like to deposit more than €250,000? You can do this by making a new deposit of at least €500 immediately after your first deposit.
For new deposits, the transfer limits for Internet Banking and the ABN AMRO app apply.
Please note: Money cannot be transferred from a savings account with a savings lock.
Making a new deposit into an existing Deposit
Do you already have a Savings Deposit and want to make a new deposit? You have two options:
- Would you like to make a new deposit for the same term as your existing Savings Deposit? Then transfer the new amount (minimum €500) to the existing account number. The term for the new amount starts on the day of the deposit. You receive the interest rate offered at that moment.
- Prefer a different term from your existing Savings Deposit? Then you open a new Savings Deposit (minimum €500) with the term you want. You receive a new account number. The new term starts on the day of the deposit, and you receive the interest rate offered at that moment.
Please note: It is not possible to make additional deposits into a Green Savings Deposit.
End of term
When the term of your Savings Deposit ends, the amount is transferred to your linked account. This may be a current account or savings account with ABN AMRO.
Ending your Deposit or withdrawing money
You cannot close your Savings Deposit while there is still money in it. You must first withdraw the funds. In most cases, you will pay a penalty. Read more about this in

If there is no money left in your Savings Deposit, you can close it free of charge. You can do this easily online via the page for closing a savings account.
