As of 1 June 2023, we will no longer process acceptgiros
There has been a sharp drop in the use of acceptgiros in recent years. More and more people use other payment methods. As of 1 June 2023, all banks in the Netherlands will stop processing acceptgiros. This page explains how this change will affect you.

Companies and organisations may ask you to use an alternative payment method

iDEAL
You can pay online safely, quickly and easily using iDEAL. You can also use iDEAL QR code displayed on invoices.

Direct debit
Through a direct debit mandate, you authorise a company to automatically withdraw money from your current account. You can use this method to pay for your insurance policies, for example.

Tikkie
A company can send you a Tikkie through WhatsApp, text message, email or QR code.

Until which date can I pay using acceptgiros?
Any acceptgiros that we receive by Wednesday 31 May 2023 will still be processed. Send the acceptgiro to us no later than Tuesday 23 May 2023.
Until which date could I receive acceptgiros?
Companies and organisations stop sending acceptgiros as of 1 March 2023. You can still send us acceptgiros you receive after that date. You have until Tuesday 23 May 2023 to do this.
Until which date can I scan acceptgiros via the ABN AMRO app?
You can do that until and including Sunday 30 April 2023. As of Monday 1 May 2023, you can no longer use the acceptgiro scanning function in the ABN AMRO app. Enter the acceptgiro data manually in the credit transfer screen. Pay special attention to the payment reference.
How can I make payments when I no longer receive acceptgiros?
Alternative payment methods include iDEAL, direct debit mandates and transferring the money yourself.
Can I still make payments by paper credit transfer?
It is still possible to make payments using a paper credit transfer form. Do you need new forms? Please send us the order form from you booklet or call Private Assistance. You can also do your online banking through the ABN AMRO app and Internet Banking.
