When you take out home insurance, you will have basic cover as standard, but you can also opt for all risks cover.
If you take out all risks insurance, your home will be covered against other risks as well, including accidental damage caused by an object falling or impacting on a part of your home. Some situations, however, are never covered.
Here are a few examples of what is also covered under all risks:
- You accidentally drop the painting you are hanging and it damages your wooden floor.
- You accidentally drop a pan on your induction hob.
- Damage to windows/glass: like when you accidentally send a ladder flying through your window pane.
Please note: all risks insurance does not cover all instances of damage. The following, for instance, are not covered:
- Damage resulting from cleaning your kitchen worktop.
- Damage to your parquet floor when you move a heavy cupboard.
- All risks insurance also covers glass, so you will be insured for the cost of replacing glass in the event of sudden and unforeseen breakage during normal use. We also reimburse the cost of breakage of special glass like stained glass windows up to €1000.
For full details of what is covered, please read the terms and conditions.
Please note that the all risks cover has a compulsory excess of €100 per all risks claim.
