What is a SEPA transfer?
A SEPA transfer is actually an improved improved version of a ‘regular payment’ as we know it. It is becoming a standardised way of making payments in 32 SEPA member countries.
- All payments via one bank account in one country
- Equal costs in all SEPA countries
- Legal liability in cases of fraud and other incidents
The advantage of a single payments market
As of January 28, 2008 the same SEPA payment within 32 European countries. This new money transfer has been standardised by the SEPA member countries. Using local bank accounts and using local bank accounts and products has become a thing of the past. You can now make payments from one country, making your administration considerably easier.
Where do I find the IBAN and BIC?
Both the IBAN and BIC of your client are required when making a SEPA payment. Your own IBAN and BIC are displayed on your bank statement or can be found the Internet Banking service. Do you need your client's Dutch bank account number? This can easily be found at www.ibanbicservice.nl, an online service supported by all Dutch banks.
Making a SEPA transfer
SEPA transfers can be made via the Internet Banking service, Access Online or Access Direct.
Other currency or no BIC / IBAN?
