Increase your internet security
The Internet offers an infinite number of possibilities, and it is difficult to imagine life without it. Unfortunately, using the Internet also has certain drawbacks. Viruses and hackers still manage to do a lot of damage. On these pages, you will find information about how to increase your internet security.
Update: 18 July 2011 – Internet-related crime over the telephone
Internet criminals are contacting customers of Dutch banks by telephone and posing as bank staff in order to try and obtain your PIN number or Internet Banking log-on details. ABN AMRO will never ask you for your log-on details or PIN number, not over the phone, not via email and not in a pop-up window.
With ABN AMRO, you can be sure your personal details and security are always treated with the utmost confidentiality. Never disclose your Internet Banking codes to a third party. Doing so will mean that your personal details may end up in the hands of criminals and be used for fraudulent transactions.
If you are asked, by telephone, email or otherwise, to disclose confidential information, please use this form to report this. In order to prevent you falling victim to phishing, you can take a number of measures, which are explained in the FAQ on Internet-related crime.
